The limited edition figure "Pagoda with Parrot" by Johann Joachim Kaendler dates from 1760. The small hand-painted decorated work of art takes you to an exotic fairy tale kingdom, which was glorified by Enlightenment thinkers like Voltaire as Dorado in custom, religion and administration. Smiling happily, like a Buddha and completely relaxed, the Chinese man also sits there with the parrot. At the same time, his posture is just as similar to the lucky Buddha. The natural facial expressions of the figure, gestures and posture, as well as the drapery of the kimono, hand-painted with fine flowers, show the typical handwriting of the great artist Kaendler.
