Except for her golden hair entirely in white porcelain, the figure rests on a pedestal of full, vividly formed rose petals. Thus, the small work of art depicts a romantic-looking scene, with roses as the eternal symbol of love, revealing their erotic component only at second glance. Just as the hand-painted roses beneath her blossom to their full glory, so too does the figure - almost to her astonishment - seem to blossom to full feminine beauty. Schott's sculpture combines feminine beauty with innocent eroticism, impressively setting the stage for the ideal of women at the beginning of the 20th century.
