The figure "Ming Dragon" brings to life the mystical creature. Hand-painted with a delicate staffage, the sculpture acquires a special liveliness. The dragon winds down to earth from the clouds of his mythological world. In China, this millennia-old fire creature stands for wisdom, sun and light. Therefore, it is not surprising that the mysterious creature has been the inspiration for one or another sculpture since the Ming Dynasty. He has been decorating MEISSEN® porcelain since 1740 and is thus one of our oldest decorations. The "Ming Dragon" figurine, hand-painted, shows four toes - a representation that was reserved exclusively for the prince in ancient China.
