The "Giraffe" figure in the iconic white of MEISSEN® porcelain was first sculpted by Heinrich Drake in 1955. Due to its tall, slender stature, the production of the sculpture places challenging demands on the craftsmanship. In addition, the hooves of the animal held in motion barely touch the base of the sculpture. To prevent the figure from tipping over, it requires supports during firing as well as a great deal of experience, love and dedication to the craft. After firing and glazing, it shines in the fantastic white of the high-quality material.
