DESCRIPTION & Details
description
The "Drummer" is one of 21 monkey musicians from the famous "Monkey Band" by Johann Joachim Kaendler. On the occasion of the 310th anniversary, this fabulous series of hand-painted collectible figures was recreated by modeler Silke Ebermann in 2020 - to the jubilation of lovers of collectible figures and Meissen arts and crafts.

Kaendler created his orchestra of musical monkeys in 1753. With his detailed figures, lovable monkeys dressed in human clothes, he humorously held up a mirror to courtly society. Even today, each figure is assembled and hand-painted by hand. Each piece is a piece of history of MEISSEN craftsmanship and a tribute to the great Kaendler.
