DESCRIPTION & Details
description
Johann Joachim Kaendler, a legend of his craft and MEISSEN's first model master, created his "Monkey Chapel" consisting of 21 monkeys playing music in 1753. On the occasion of the 310th anniversary, modeler Silke Ebermann created a new edition of these hand-painted figures, which are perfect as collectible figurines. Kaendler's intention at the time was to humorously hold a mirror up to the society of the court. He achieved this with his figures, the monkeys dressed like humans. Even today, the detailed monkey musicians are handmade as well as hand-painted. Thus, the "singer" also testifies to centuries of experience in arts and crafts and is reminiscent of the great Kaendler. These collectible figurines are a must for collectors.
