DESCRIPTION & Details
description
The figure "Meerkat as a conductor", hand-painted and limited, is part of a nine-part monkey chapel by Otto Pilz from 1908. As an expression of fantastic craftsmanship 's succeeds in his "monkey musicians" a remarkable and ironic interpretation to Kaendler's "Monkey Chapel" (1753). In contrast to the baroque chapel, his monkey bears characteristic, individual traits. The animal sculpture, hand-painted, captivates with its humorous appearance. The monkey wears a bow tie and a colorful jacket. Thus, the conductor directs the musical spectacle. Incomparable handicraft. The figure is limited to 25 pieces.
