This classic hand-painted bowl is decorated with the famous Meissen onion pattern. Saxony's Elector "Augustus the Strong" was particularly fond of the blue dinner service throughout his life. Curiously, the onion pattern does not depict onions, but rather abstract fruits such as pomegranates, peaches, a bamboo stick and delicate flowers. You can find other bowls, plates and cups made of Meissen porcelain with the traditional onion pattern decor in our range.
