DESCRIPTION & Details
description
A beautiful piece of tableware from the extensive dinner services of master modeller Johann Joachim Kaendler - the bowl "Neuer Ausschnitt" with the world-famous onion pattern. Hand-painted in the manufactory's own cobalt blue, the onion pattern represents the extraordinary inventiveness and creativity of the tradition-rich porcelain manufactory. The catchy name of the decoration is misleading and originated in the vernacular - originally the motif represented peach and melon, bamboo cane and the delicate chrysanthemum. As a complement to the home dinner service or in combination with other dishes of the versatile repertoire of the manufactory, this bowl testifies to traditional craftsmanship of unmatched quality. The onion pattern is applied to the porcelain body in filigree underglaze painting - a demanding work in which subsequent corrections are impossible. After firing, the decoration shines in a brilliant, incomparable blue. With a length of 18 centimeters, the bowl is an eye-catcher in the middle of any dinner service. A beautiful tableware, which is marked with the sign of the Meissen swords.
