DESCRIPTION & Details
description
Alexander Struck (1902-1990), a student at the Meissen School of Drawing and long-time modeler at the manufactory, brings a humorous anecdote from the world of fables to porcelain with his figurine "Fips the Monkey". Designed in 1939, the 21.5 cm high figurine captivates with its detailed modeling and finely nuanced colouring - entirely in the style of Struck's preference for lively, characterful animal depictions. Fips sits in a playful four-poster bed arrangement as if he had just planned his next prank - a charming mixture of poetry and mischievous expression. The exciting combination of mythological monkey tradition and individual expressiveness makes this figurine a rare collector's item with high artistic standards. This high-quality porcelain figurine is limited to 50 pieces.
