DESCRIPTION & Details
description
The historical figure "Lion" by the Berlin animal sculptor August Gaul (1922) stands for his abstracting formal language, which captures the essence of the animal in broken transparency and almost provocative massiveness. In this way, MEISSEN® builds bridges between great sculptural art and sophisticated interior aesthetics. The sculpture "Lioness, white" was first molded in 1922/23 - a tribute by Max Esser to his great teacher Gaul, whose unmistakable sculptural style lives on in our models. Detailed molded, the magnificent figure shines in noble white. Proud and majestic, the lion strides through the savannah.
