Swan Service Indian Flower Branch Service Plate
description
The baroque reliefs of the almost 300-year-old "Swan Service" bear witness to the extraordinary craftsmanship and quality of Meissen porcelain and are still made by hand today. As part of one of the most magnificent dinner services from the Meissen manufactory, this place setting is also hand-painted with Indian flower branches and scattered flowers. Not all tableware is the same: this place plate also carries a piece of history and, not least because it is of course hand-painted, is itself a sculptural work of art. As part of the famous dinner service, it is also adorned with the eponymous pair of floating swans, for which Kaendler was inspired by drawings and engravings from Dresden.
