Limited Edition Tea Caddy, Titmouse on Sprays of Flowering Cherry

The so-called "Limogesmalerei", a particularly elaborate type of painting, which was originally used to decorate metals with enamel. With a steady hand, porcelain painter Peggy Hauke created her motif of the little titmouse on cherry blossom branches in various layers of white porcelain paint on the black-glazed background. Depending on the number of layers of paint, almost translucent images develop on the work of art, which in contrast to the dark background unfold a fascinating spatiality. A platinum rim, also hand-painted, enhances the restrained play of colors in the limited edition tea box.
