This unique mural combines the powerful visual language of artist Jen Ray with porcelain. The unique piece shows a harlequin-like portrait of a woman with voluminous hair and a strikingly ruffled collar. The woman's gaze is both demanding and authoritative at the same time - a presence that the viewer will not let go of. Color nuances in bordeaux, ink blue, turquoise and violet create expressive contrasts between discipline and rebellion. A statement written in fine dots at the bottom right of the picture sets a provocative accent: "GO AWAY".
In her works, Jen Ray explores themes such as self-determination, female strength and identity - sometimes poetically, sometimes provocatively. Her figures radiate strength and fragility in equal measure. This unique piece, created in 2011, was made from the finest Meissen porcelain and painstakingly hand-painted.
